Resources > Standardisation

IENUM, through its joint venture partner IPA is active on the front line of ENUM protocol standardization. Active participation in international organisations like IETF, ITU, RIPE and CENTR ensures that operational experience is directly incorporated into the respective standards.

IETF (Internet Engineering Task Force)

IPA regularly attends IETF meetings and focuses on the ENUM working group, for which it also provides the secretary. Besides that, IPA (enum.at) actively participates in the VoIP-peering (SPEERMINT) and next generation emergency calls (ECRIT/GEOPRIV) working groups.

Internet-Drafts by IPA:
RFC 4725 - ENUM Validation Architecture
draft-ietf-enum-validation-token-03 - ENUM Validation Token Format Definition
draft-ietf-enum-vcard-06 - ENUMservice "vCard"
draft-ietf-enum-combined-05 - Combined User and Carrier ENUM
draft-ietf-enum-branch-location-record-03 - The Branch Location Record

ITU (International Telecommunications Union)

IPA is an "associate member" to the ITU, and participates in Study Group 2 (addressing, naming and numbering).

RIPE - Reseaux IP Europeens

IENUM regularly attends RIPE meetings, and has participated in talks about operational aspects of ENUM registration and provisioning. IEDR, the parent company, is an accredited LIR (Local Internet Registry) and is therefore involved in assignment of IP address ranges and AS numbers via RIPE.
