IENUM Limited host inaugural User ENUM event

On the 28th November IENUM Limited held its inaugural User ENUM event bringing together service providers from diverse sectors of the communications industry. Representatives from Fixed, Wireless, Mobile, Cable, VoIP and other service providers were in attendance.

The session was the first of its kind to bring numerous operators together to discuss the potential of the ENUM technology and to further the advancement of ENUM services in Ireland.

The session was entitled:

"ENUM in action - practical lessons in implementation"

Venue: Gresham Hotel, O'Connell St, Dublin 1
Date: Wednesday 28th November 2007
Time: 4.00 p.m. to 7.00 p.m. (followed by drinks and snacks)

The objectives of the session were:
- To share the experiences of ENUM in Europe, and understand the various business models used by registrars
- Describe the benefits to service providers of being an ENUM tier 2 registrar
- To show how to become an ENUM registrar
- Discuss technical implementation details of ENUM and VoIP
- To share the experience of a practical business implementation in Ireland, ENUM as a tool to connect remote sites
